10 Year Guarantee and Repair pledge
10 Year Guarantee
I stand by the quality and craftsmanship of every piece I create. That’s why I offer a 10 year guarantee on my leather goods. If your item fails due to a defect in materials or workmanship, I will repair or replace it, at my discretion, free of charge.
This guarantee is non-transferable and applies only to the original owner. Please register your purchase within three months to activate the guarantee. If unregistered, I will still honour it as long as the purchase can be verified.
Exclusive Benefit: Registered items are also eligible for free cleaning and conditioning every two years (postage costs not included).
What’s Not Covered?
This guarantee does not cover:
-
Normal wear and tear (such as patina, scratches, or scuffs from regular use)
-
Accidental damage (e.g, exposure to fire, water, or chemicals)
-
Intentional damage or misuse
-
Unauthorized modifications or repairs.
-
Dust bags
Other limitations:
-
If you specify materials that I don't think are suitable for a 10 year guarantee, I may limit the length of the guarantee. This will be communicated during the specification process prior to any purchase. Anything I specify on ready made or made-to-order products is covered by the 10 year guarantee.
-
If leather is not properly cared for it can dry out and crack; this is not covered. Leather doesn't take a lot of care, but there are a few key point to remember:
-
Leather should be lightly conditioned about once per year
-
If it gets wet, let it dry naturally then condition*
-
Do not let dust accumulate on the surface of the leather
-
Regular wiping with a horsehair brush of dry microfibre cloth helps to remove dust and improve the appearance of leather.
-
*Any high-quality beeswax-based leather conditioner should work well. I personally recommend Artisan's Son Leather Conditioner (available here), which I use on all my leather goods before sending them out.
Regardless of which conditioner you choose, always test it on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure you're happy with the results.
