​​I specialise in the restoration and repair of quality leather goods, with an emphasis on preserving craftsmanship, character, and longevity.

 

Lifetime care for you leather

All Gibson Handcraft items are made by me in my workshop in South Australia. I want my customers to be able to use their leather goods for as long as possible.

​

For this reason, repairs for all Gibson Handcraft items are free for life to the original owner or gift recipient. Please see our Lifetime Care Policy for details.

Restoration and repair service

​

I also undertake restoration and repair of leather goods not made by Gibson Handcraft.

​

This includes:​

• Restoration of vintage leather goods and briefcases

• Structural repairs and reinforcement

• Re-stitching and seam repairs

• Edge refinishing and burnishing

• Strap repairs

• Handle rebuilds

• Hardware replacement

• Lining repairs

• Belt repairs and resizing

• Restoration of worn, dry, or damaged leather

 

Where possible, repairs are carried out sympathetically to preserve the original character and construction of the piece rather than simply replacing components unnecessarily.

Some items may show signs of age and use even after restoration, which is often part of the character of well-used leather goods.
